"Over the past 30 years I've been very fortunate to travel throughout the world. I always enjoy seeing new places and new animals, but Africa has truly captured my heart.
In the spring of 2010 the Jack Hanna's Into the Wild crew filmed at two amazing reserves in South Africa - Shamwari and Sanbona. During my safaris there, I had the rare opportunity to track leopards and rhinos by foot, feed a zebra at the wildlife rehabilitation center, and attend a field guide training seminar. The staff, accommodations, and food were the finest I've ever experienced in Africa - the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation! The experiences we had were second-to-none, and you can't beat the ease of the logistics, in less than 24 hours after departing the US we were in the malaria-free African bush. When our guide pointed out the family lodge, I told my wife we've found the perfect place to bring our grandkids, we're planning another family trip now!
