Social Responsibility

DSA Pays It Forward is a registered 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization committed to improving the daily lives of South Africans suffering from poverty, malnutrition, and disease.

Efforts in the past have ranged from supporting HIV/AIDS orphanages to establishing sustainable farming initiatives that offer a source of food and income for locals.

“History will judge us by the difference we make in everyday lives of children.” -Nelson Mandela

Since 2014, DSA Pays It Forward has championed the cause of Khazimula Children’s Project – a home for vulnerable children situated in Lidgetton, Kwa-Zulu Natal, not far from the Nelson Mandela Capture Site in Lions River.  Khazimula is home to 30 vulnerable children at a time between the ages of 6 and 19 years. The children have been orphaned, abandoned, abused or removed from their families due to extreme poverty.

Khazimula works to transform the lives of the children by providing a safe, secure launch pad from where they can journey daily to and from the local school, be fed, nurtured and loved by Khazimula’s caring staff. The staff are trained and work towards preparing and equipping the children with the necessary skills and coping mechanisms for the time when they return to their families/relatives in the community.   Khazimula takes care of the basic needs of each child through the following programmes:  residential care, education, therapy, family re-unification, and after care.  Where possible, Khazimula’s resident social worker maintains contact with the relatives of the children, and supports the fostering process.  The re-unification project is key.

“Give a child love, laughter and peace.” -Nelson Mandela

DSA Pays It Forward continues to support Khazimula Children’s Project in various ways – being involved at management level, as well as raising funds for Khazimula’s various needs.
