Itinerary

Day 1

TRAVELING

Depart from New York (JFK) or Washington DC (IAD) for your South African Airways flight to South Africa.

Day 2

Cape Town

On arrival in Johannesburg you will connect for your two-hour flight on South African Airways to Cape Town.

You will be met on arrival for your transfer to the hotel.

Overnight on a bed and breakfast basis at the Taj Cape Town

Day 3

CAPE TOWN

Today enjoy a tour of the Cape Peninsula, which allows visitors the opportunity to experience the variety of landscapes and scenery Cape Town has to offer. Experience the majestic beauty of the Atlantic seaboard and Chapman’s Peak. Continue to the quaint fishing village of Hout Bay and visit Cape Point and the colony of Jackass penguins at Boulders Beach. After a full day of sightseeing, return to your hotel in the late afternoon where the evening is at leisure.

Day 4

Cape Town

Today depart on a full-day tour of the Winelands.

Here you get to taste the good life! The marriage of fine wine with appropriately fine food is an indescribable experience. You will enjoy wine tasting at two specially selected wine estates and lunch in the winelands (on your own account). Visit the university town of Stellenbosch, with its many museums and the gastronomic capital of South Africa, Franschhoek. After a full day of sightseeing, return to your hotel in the late afternoon where the evening is at leisure.

Day 5

Cape Town

Today is at leisure to explore the beautiful city of Cape Town.

Maybe take a trip in the cable car up Table Mountain or a boat ride for a poignant visit to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for many years. Perhaps take time to explore the vibrant V&A Waterfront with its many shops, restaurants and activities as well as the fascinating Two Oceans Aquarium. In the summer months head for the white sand beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay for people watching and soaking up the African sun. Whatever else, you will not be at a loss for things to do!

Day 6-7

ROVOS RAIL

After breakfast you will be transferred to Cape Town station for your train journey on the classic Rovos Rail.

Day 8

JOHANNESBURG View Accommodation

On arrival at Capital Park Station in Pretoria, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Overnight on a bed and breakfast basis at the Peermont D'oreale Grand Hotel

Day 9-11

SABI SAND PRIVATE GAME RESERVE View Accommodation

After breakfast take the shuttle bus to OR Tambo International Airport for your scheduled flight to Skukuza, where, on arrival, you will be met and transferred to the camp.

Spend the next three days exploring the African Bush

Overnight on a fully inclusive basis at Sabi Sabi Little Bush Camp for three nights

Day 12

DEPARTURE

After one last opportunity to track some elusive animal species and a hearty breakfast, transfer to Skukuza Airport for your flight to Johannesburg OR Tambo International and connection to the United States.

Traveling

Arrival at New York (JFK) or Washington Dulles Airport (IAD).
